1. Information We Collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and optionally your preferred screenshot sources. When you use the Zeek app, we may collect:
- Account information: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials.
- Screenshot data: Images you choose to import, along with AI-generated metadata (titles, summaries, tags, extracted text).
- Usage data: Search queries, interaction patterns, and feature usage to improve the product.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Zeek service.
- Process and analyze your screenshots using AI to enable search and resurfacing features.
- Send you product updates and communications (you can opt out at any time).
- Detect and prevent abuse or security issues.
3. On-Device Processing
Zeek performs initial processing (OCR, entity extraction, sensitivity detection) on your device before any data is sent to our servers. Screenshots flagged as highly sensitive are excluded from cloud sync by default.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Screenshots are stored in encrypted cloud storage (AWS S3) with access restricted to your account. We use bcrypt for password hashing and SHA-256 for token security.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- AI providers: Screenshot images are sent to AI services (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or similar) for analysis. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.
- Infrastructure providers: Cloud hosting and storage services that help us operate Zeek.
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Access, update, or delete your account and data at any time.
- Export your data.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
- Request deletion of your waitlist entry.
